Welcome to the first tournament of our highly anticipated 2012 season! If you've been watching the political debates or haven't been keeping up with your game this winter, then the theme of this event is for you.
Capitol City Golf Club is hosting our tournament. To help get you back in the swing, Tournament Chairman Jim Kozu has chosen a Shamble format. If your drives aren't quite up to mid-season form, no worry - the team gets to pick the best drive. From there you play your own ball into the cup. KP holes and Long Drive holes will be in play.
Please take time to say hello to our new members Hitoshi Suwa, George Hirai and a rejoining member, Ed Kim.
The last day to RSVP is March 9th.
Have a great season!
The second FHGC tournament of the year takes us down south to Lake Spanaway. After a great Master's tournament with Freddie in the mix for awhile and some tantalizing weather, this is a must play event. I know we say that every month, but hey, we of the FHGC aim to please.
The format is "Horse Race" 2 man best ball so it adds a little more pressure to your scoring efforts.
The last day to RSVP is April 13.
Have fun, score good...for your buddies!
On to the next First Hill Golf Club adventure - the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain. This will be a 6 hole progressive best ball tournament. "Pressure builds, as it should," as former tournament chairman Bill Shinbo used to say.
Beautiful day, beautiful course. Have a tough time starting out? Somebody in our foursome will score and we'll use his ball. Hole 7 and hey guys, we're taking two scores now. The collar gets a little tighter, but you can still hide. Hole 13, and there's not much rope left. Fairways get a little narrower, greens a little smaller and that hole seems to have a cover over it. 18th hole guys and there's no room for error - everybody better score well.
"A" game. Bring it. No choice.
Have fun boys.
Brought to you by your friendly FHGC Tournament Chairman.
