First Tournament of the 2011 Season! Thursday, March 24, 2011. Tee times start at 11:00 am.
Based on the great response from last year's tournament, we're bringing back the Shamble format. (hmmm, we didn't check if those who liked the format so much were last year's winners...)
Break out those golf clubs and dust off the cobwebs. Weather is alittle cool, but find a driving range with heaters to make you feel like you're in Hawaii and not Seattle.
April's tournament takes us back to the Home Course, the former location of the DuPont Company. If the tee markers wrapped like sticks of dynamite weren't a clue, maybe you wondered about the odd architecture of some holes featuring landscaped old explosives bunkers. Despite the millions of pounds of dynamite produced over the years, Floyd assures us that it's a safe place to play.
This month's tournament is at Gold Mountain, the Olympic Course - one of the club's favorites! We know that many of you play your best rounds here so competition will be fierce. It's the dreaded Progressive Best Ball format where swings get just a little tighter the last 6 holes.
Please note that the date is the 3rd Thursday of the month due to the Memorial Day Holiday. Everything is a bit rushed as a result, so please RSVP by May 6th.
Tough month for the competitive - McCormick Woods, Team A vs. Team B match play tournament for bragging rights and dinner.
The smell of firs and cedars, possibly a view of a deer or two and the gentlemanly trash talking of those whetting their appetites.
It doesn't get much better...
Dinner will be held after the tournament at 6:30.

Federal Way, Wash. 98003
Please RSVP by June 10th.
Our July tournament will be held at another club favorite - Druids Glen! The course promises to be in great shape and ready for our merry band of men.
Whether you played your tail off last month to contribute to a hard fought Team B win or not, here's another chance to test your skills and will - tough course, tough format. Extreme best ball baby!
Tournament chairman Jim is smiling with this combination. Play hard, play smart gentlemen and have a great time!
Please RSVP by July 15th.
August's tournament takes us back to the west side of Puget Sound to the original course at the Gold Mountain Golf Complex - The Cascade Course. Members have gone low on this course and there have been a few KP Pots and an ace shot here over the years.
A club favorite, the course should be in great shape. Gold Mountain just hosted the 64th USGA Junior Amateur Championship so lots of work was done to make everything presentable.
Please RSVP by August 12.
September's tournament is the Spanaway Special - so named because the new general manager has assured us that we'll have a special event. Lots of behind the scenes activity has required our tournament chairman to be ever creative and patient. It's another adventure for Jim, but I'm sure we'll all have a great time. We're playing the ever popular "No Stud, No Dud" format.
We need to know if you're playing AND if you plan to walk or ride.
Please RSVP by September 2.
