New Season, Same Tournament Chairman
Everyone who is a member of the FHGC for 2010 will be presented with a hand-out at the first tournament they participate in. Over the years, we have been kind of lax on some of the golf rules. Mainly, to accommodate the "Old Timers" in the club. i.e. we always played Winter Rules.
However, over the last couple of years, we have had an influx of new members. Some low handicappers, some higher handicappers. Our objective is to make sure everyone, old members and new members are all following the same set of rules, whether USGA or FHGC rules.
Hand-out #1 pertains to golf rules and how everyone should interpret particular situations. i.e. how to play a lost ball, how many penalty strokes. These are only the rules we felt might occur the most often during a round of golf. USGA rules supercedes unless addressed on the hand-out.
Hand-out #2 pertains to cancellation and no shows to a tournament. It is self explainatory.
It is the responsibility of each member to read this hand-out in order that everyone plays by the same set of rules. It might be wise to carry this hand-out in your bag during our tournaments in case there is a question. Tournament Chairman
